Two more days to pitch weekend

November 4, 2010

Good to see Press Release did get picked up http://tinyurl.com/252cjhc . I have one blog from http://tonysintense.tumblr.com/ . I have a few more coming up – one blog, one mag, one radio interview so far this month. Trying to get some free press. Pitch newsletter went to printer yesterday should get it today and we are rendering first three scenes to update previs by Friday (won’t be able to do more for this weekend but David will be updating www.FranknSon.cpm this weekend) – Been lots of work but feeling good about it all. Apart from my pitch bible for film I am now making little bag of candy with my Franky and Jr on them (M&M). Would Spielberg do this? I will try and tweet and post over weekend how my adventure in Hollywood is going.

I am heading off to LA

October 22, 2010

I am heading into LA the weekend of Nov 6 – 9 for the America Film Market (http://www.afma.com/). I was hoping to have a meeting with groups who are interested in partnering in the making of a 3D animation feature.
“FranknSon”, a feature-length, 3D animation has just entered development and will go into production next year. “FranknSon” tells the story of a young monster in search of a family. It’s a tale that will appeal to both kids and adults, as it draws upon the legendary Monsters from the golden age. It is about a forgotten group of Monsters that get a second chance and a village that needs redemption. It’s a timeless story of love and family, of friendship and loyalty. Apart from some great characters is has a wonderful screenplay. There are elements of the best in buddy movies with a touch of Magnificent Seven/Seven Samurai meets FranknSon. Heroes we can really care for in the best traditions of Pixar or Dreamworks.

KickStarter.com campaign has started

September 18, 2010

Dear friends, family, and allies,

I just wanted to post a quick note about a project I have been wanting to do for a long time. “FranknSon” as most here may know is the 3D animation film which is in development and we hope to go into production next year. The Short animation we feature in the KickStarter campaign is about a Father and Son relationship. A Son who has discovered his Father and wants to be closer. A Father who has always been alone and has never worried about anyone else. The feature Movie which goes into production next year has this Father and Son relationship at its core but it is also about friendship. It is about a forgotten group of Monsters that get a second chance and a village that needs redemption.

If you go to the following link below you will see a short video and information of what we am up to.
FranknSon The Movie
I hope you take a moment to view the video and are able to support this exciting project. Kickstarter is a great way to help but if you don’t feel like using kickstarter (and I hope you do) but still want to help just contact me directly and I can go over other options. This is an all or nothing deal for us so I am hoping you can also pass this link on to anyone you think
might be excited in getting involve.

Thank you for your time.

Frist draft of script done

August 30, 2010

Wanted to give you all a status of what is going on. In the good old days when I was a student all we needed to do is talk about our ideas and everyone would show up and we would make something (like a short film etc). Well as you know we not making a short film and in order to make sure future investors, their lawyers, and the many obstacles that lay ahead don’t stop us – I needed to make sure we get the legal stuff is done correctly and fairly.

As I have said in the past when I started on this long road of wanting to be an artist & filmmaker I needed to take some side roads. Now many years later after having done 2D & 3D work, Art, VFX, Game & IT development, Motion Graphics, Corp Videos, Feature Film & Shorts, and waiting for the right moment – it appears like it is now. I am not getting any younger and I now know enough to pull all of this together and know this will be a great adventure for the team. We see this project as the beginning point of many related works.

I see this as a true Win-Win for all of us. We just got the first draft of the script and it looks great (but we got our work cut out for our selves doing the storyboards). The work of all our artist will be seen in DVDs, Books, Web sites, and it will be reflective in the credits of a full 3D Stereoscopy Animation Movie. We are now in the development stage and we are planing a campaign to raise some development dollars that is needed to cover some of the cost (so far this is still self funded – going broke). We have lots of excitement and we need to get our designs, script, storyboards, and animations done (and the current Previs) in order to be able to do our Hollywood pitching by end of this year.

Moving towards Maya

August 12, 2010

It looks like we are moving towards Maya for animations. We used C4D in the past (and lots of other stuff) but I had held off using Maya since we where not looking to go main stream (it was just us, beside the cost!) but it seems getting good help with animation and rigging is much easier in Maya. Also as the scale of the project has grown (& gone somewhat main stream from a scope pov) it becomes clear getting others on board is a BIG factor. The script is going well and we got some help in the story-boarding and animations (and we will need more) but now we need to get our riggers in place (Maya). As I said this is still in the self funding state but we expect to be pitching big time by end of year and we already have some interest. We are moving ahead with Previs part 2 and modeling is set for additional cast but so much to do. If you know someone who has a Maya rigging background and can help please have them contact us at info@digitalsummit.tv

Thanks
Orlando
