Frist draft of script done

August 30, 2010

Wanted to give you all a status of what is going on. In the good old days when I was a student all we needed to do is talk about our ideas and everyone would show up and we would make something (like a short film etc). Well as you know we not making a short film and in order to make sure future investors, their lawyers, and the many obstacles that lay ahead don’t stop us – I needed to make sure we get the legal stuff is done correctly and fairly.

As I have said in the past when I started on this long road of wanting to be an artist & filmmaker I needed to take some side roads. Now many years later after having done 2D & 3D work, Art, VFX, Game & IT development, Motion Graphics, Corp Videos, Feature Film & Shorts, and waiting for the right moment – it appears like it is now. I am not getting any younger and I now know enough to pull all of this together and know this will be a great adventure for the team. We see this project as the beginning point of many related works.

I see this as a true Win-Win for all of us. We just got the first draft of the script and it looks great (but we got our work cut out for our selves doing the storyboards). The work of all our artist will be seen in DVDs, Books, Web sites, and it will be reflective in the credits of a full 3D Stereoscopy Animation Movie. We are now in the development stage and we are planing a campaign to raise some development dollars that is needed to cover some of the cost (so far this is still self funded – going broke). We have lots of excitement and we need to get our designs, script, storyboards, and animations done (and the current Previs) in order to be able to do our Hollywood pitching by end of this year.

Moving towards Maya

August 12, 2010

It looks like we are moving towards Maya for animations. We used C4D in the past (and lots of other stuff) but I had held off using Maya since we where not looking to go main stream (it was just us, beside the cost!) but it seems getting good help with animation and rigging is much easier in Maya. Also as the scale of the project has grown (& gone somewhat main stream from a scope pov) it becomes clear getting others on board is a BIG factor. The script is going well and we got some help in the story-boarding and animations (and we will need more) but now we need to get our riggers in place (Maya). As I said this is still in the self funding state but we expect to be pitching big time by end of year and we already have some interest. We are moving ahead with Previs part 2 and modeling is set for additional cast but so much to do. If you know someone who has a Maya rigging background and can help please have them contact us at info@digitalsummit.tv

Looking to form Social Media Group to drive our film

August 8, 2010

We are looking to form a social media group./dept that will drive interest in our film project and be instrumental in creating support and in crowdsourcing . This is not a simple one or two month project since the creation of this 3D Stereoscopic Animation film will take over two plus years to complete. Our approach to making this film is a hybrid approach using the morphing hollywood model combine with the evolving social media approach as a full partner. In order to do this we need to create a social media team that can help us navigate and get the people to notice and help us to achieve what “the Pros” don’t think is possible for an Indie group. We are also hoping to create a real model for others to follow and get the rest of the Indie filmmakers who want to create that impossible film a path which makes it real. This is not a one person operation. This mean having various members focusing on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Our own Blogs, etc . If you are interested in this idea and have chops to helps us evolve the independent film making process sent us an email at info@digitalSummit.TV with background, links, ideas and most of all why you think this is a good (or not) concept.

Looking for Artist(s) for Animation Project

August 5, 2010

As you may know we are in the early stages of a previs for a pitch for a feature 3D animation which we hope to get going next year (see post below for video). This is still in the self-funded stage but we are moving along well and wanted to try and get some additional artists involved in the project. We can offer credits and some kind of stipend or cover expenses for the artist(s) we have an opportunity to work with. Once we get funding next year I will be able to explore other compensation options.
We live and work in the Rockaway NJ area but most of the members of our team are all over the tri-state and overseas. However, for a Storyboard artist we are hoping to find someone who is in the local area.
You can emails and links to info@Digitalsummit.TV
Previs link is here
Thanks
